I wanted to see how different blog articles would look when one is written by a person and one by AI technology. I used Upwork to hire a highly rated blog writer and Jasper.ai, as well as ChatGPT, for the version of the blog witten by AI.

I chose Upwork simply because I am familiar with it and because it allows me to find writers with many reviews about their specific skills on writing blogs about blockchain topics. I used Jasper.ai, because Jasper was rated highly for writing blogs and longer texts. Nevertheless, I couldn’t help myself, so I also asked ChatGPT the same question, especialy since the hype around ChatGPT is what inspired this blog post.

The question I asked the blog to be written about is “How will ChatGPT impact the blockchain industry?”

This is what the human hired through Upwork came back to me with:

When ChatGPT launched into the public limelight, it stuck out like a sore thumb. It sent the whole world agog with an insight into an artificial intelligence-driven future and its capabilities. To some, it is the confirmation of science fiction-fuelled suspicions of AI taking our jobs and scheming us out of relevance. To others, it is a toolbox of human capability enhancement.

Say what you may, ChatGPT is a scoreboard of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning-infused capabilities and solutions.

What exactly is ChatGPT, and what impact does it have on the Blockchain industry?

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a sophisticated ChatBot developed by OpenAI, a non-profit Machine learning and AI company founded by Elon Musk and Sam Altman. This free resource seeks to perfectly mimic human interaction and conversation on a never imagined scale.

Powered by a brilliant combination of AI and machine learning capabilities, ChatGPT can generate computer codes on prompt, write essays, create emails, and compose songs and poetry, amongst other yet to be identified capabilities.

Impact of ChatGPT on the Blockchain Industry

Like other sectors of the global finance industry, the Blockchain industry will be significantly impacted by ChatGPT. For Blockchain experts and enthusiasts, it is essential to see ChatGPT as an industry’s enhancing toolkit and not a fierce competitor.

ChatGPT will enhance the industry in the following dimensions:

Crypto Trading/ DeFi

Tracking price changes for profitable trading is the crux of crypto trading. A crypto trader basically buys the dip to be resold as it appreciates. Using the pine script code, traders can create a crypto trading price tracking bot on ChatGPT for automated and profitable crypto trading.

Trading on crypto exchange platforms requires pairing cryptocurrencies, preferably an altcoin with a stablecoin. Using ChatGPT script code and Binance Exchange Application Programming Interface (API), a trading terminal can be created displaying current orders for a trading pair.

Identifying a viable cryptocurrency

The crypto industry is replete with several cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based digital assets hoping to take advantage of the current crypto wave.

Unfortunately, several crypto projects will fizzle out due to their inviability. Making a sound crypto investment requires a careful analysis of crypto viability determining indices, including market capitalization, total supply, price per unit, investors’ confidence and use case.

Asking about these metrics on ChatGPT can help identify viable cryptocurrencies for profitable investment.

Blockchain smart contracts

Smart contracts are Blockchain-powered self-executing contracts based on inputted terms and conditions. ChatGPT can be used to analyze smart contracts to identify potential risks and benefits.

Also, ChatGPT as an AI and machine learning integrated technology can help manage smart contracts efficiently — limiting human input, thereby increasing the smart contracts’ overall efficiency and transparency.

Furthermore, ChatGPT can improve transparency and fair play by managing Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO). The management will be based on objective ChatGPT’s crafted rules of engagement devoid of human biases.

Conclusion

ChatGPT is still a work in progress, but it will be incredible to see what this Elon Musk brainchild, supported by tech giants, will achieve at its peak.

For players in the Blockchain industry, AI solutions like ChatGPT are not bitter rivals. They are toolkits for success.

ChatGPT and its Impact on the Blockchain Industry

The blockchain industry is constantly evolving, and one of the latest innovations to hit the scene is ChatGPT. This new platform promises to revolutionize both blockchain technology and natural language processing (NLP). Let’s explore how this exciting new technology will affect the blockchain industry as a whole.

What Is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT stands for “chat-based generative pre-trained transformer.” In layman’s terms, it is an artificial intelligence (AI) system that uses natural language processing (NLP) to engage in conversations with humans by understanding and interpreting user input. It can also generate responses from scratch based on what it has learned from previous conversations.

The Benefits of ChatGPT

The most important benefit of using ChatGPT in the blockchain industry is that it increases efficiency. By eliminating the need for manual data entry, ChatGPT can help streamline processes such as customer service inquiries, KYC/AML checks, customer onboarding, and more. Furthermore, because the system is AI-powered, it can provide faster resolution times than human workers, meaning customers don’t have to wait as long for their requests to be processed.

In addition to increasing efficiency, ChatGPT also helps reduce costs associated with customer support and onboarding. Because ChatGPT automates many of these processes, companies don’t have to hire additional staff or pay for costly software solutions. This allows them to save money while ensuring their customers are getting a high level of support at all times.

Finally, ChatGPT offers improved data security over traditional methods of customer onboarding and customer service inquiry management. By eliminating manual data entry and providing automated verification processes based on NLP technology, companies can ensure that only secure information is being used when interacting with customers. Additionally, since all conversations are stored on the blockchain ledger — where they are immutable and transparent — the risk of fraud or manipulation is greatly reduced.

Conclusion

ChatGPT represents a major step forward for both AI technology and the blockchain industry as a whole. By allowing companies to streamline their customer service inquiries and onboarding process while reducing costs associated with those activities, this new platform offers numerous benefits for businesses looking to make their operations more efficient and secure. As more companies adopt this innovative new technology in the coming months and years ahead, we should expect to see even greater levels of efficiency across multiple sectors within the blockchain space.

Let’s see what ChatGPT itself says:

I have to say I probably like ChatGPTs answer the most, but direcly after follows the human’s response. Jasper AI wrote a blog that more generically answered the question about AI’s efficiency-creating capabilities in a business, rather than specifically with regards to the blockchain industry. Nonetheless, considering the fact that I gave no prompts, no guidance or structure, I am impressed with the content writing capabilities of this free AI tool. Jasper also has a document composer and editor, so blogs, articles, books, scripts, and any other content can be perfected, even with an SEO mode to ensure the content will rank well on search engines.

But anyway, I digress. Based on the research and direct comparison, my initial question has been answered clearly. AI technology will be a tool to enhance the blockchain industry, make it more efficient, build it faster, more accurate and enable more participants to enter the space. Skillsets such as coding or copywriting can be complemented by ever-developing AI technology, however, human input and management of the technology remain uncontestably important.

Btw - if you are into AI writing support software, also look at Humanata (https://www.humata.ai/) a tool that can be used to summarise text or ask specific questions about the content, or Sudowrite (https://www.sudowrite.com/app) if you want help to complete your novel.

Other thoughts on the AI Industry

I believe this blog post would be incomplete without a few updates on the AI industry and some further thoughts on this topic:

Microsoft and AI: At a press event, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that “it’s a new day for search.” He was referring to the company’s integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4 into Bing, a 13-year-old search engine. Downloads of the app jumped 10x after the AI news broke since Microsoft promises priority access to those who have Bing installed. This is a move to try and compete with Google’s search engine and at this point I would say it is working.

Google and AI: Trying not to be outdone, Google announced Bard, its counterpart to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. It is in a testing phase and will use Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications to power a conversational AI that will draw on information on the web. However, Google’s Bard has gotten off to an embarrassing start after it gave a wrong answer while showcasing its abilities, and investors wiped more than $100bn off the value of the search engine’s parent company, Alphabet. The Chatbot Bard incorrectly said that the James Webb Space Telescope was the first to take pictures of a planet outside the Earth’s solar system. — Ouch! —

Alibaba Group Holding said it is testing a ChatGPT-like service that takes advantage of its years of research in large language models, joining web search giant Baidu in a rush to create China’s answer to US-based OpenAI’s chatbot. This has set off a frenzy among investors and the general public. Baidu previously said it expects to complete testing of Ernie Bot in March.

Let’s see how all of this will develop from here.

I am also keen to see how bias and political views will impact AI technology. Since AI works by being fed past content and data during training, the quality of these inputs can acutely impact outputs. After weeks of asking ChatGPT questions like “What would a discussion between Kim Kardashian and Mickey Mouse be about?”, some users now ask more consequential questions such as: “Would you vote Democrat?” The OpenAI chatbot’s responses on topics ranging from the 2020 presidential election to specific politicians seem not entirely nonpartisan and may even exhibit a left-leaning bias. This causes concerns about societal implications of a prejudiced algorithm writing news stories, policy proposals, and computer code. It is important to note that at the moment, AI can also still be tricked into producing specific, varying content depending on how the question is asked.

— We need to remember that AI needs to be trained and learns overtime. —

While ChatGPT itself claims it is apolitical because it is not human, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman acknowledges that it has “shortcomings around bias.” This likely originates from the datasets that are used to train the underlying algorithm, e.g., various news outlets, as well as Reddit and Twitter, which may be full of incorrect and highly biased information. I am no expert so I am curious to hear more thoughts on this topic.

I will continue to follow the development of this technology in general and specifically within the blockchain industry. Learning how to use AI to improve my life and create efficiencies is something I really look forward to. However, it is important to remember the importance of emotional intelligence, which so far can only be found in the human touch.

Thoughts and feedback are welcome!
